Database
The Database category in the MIStudio Logic Editor contains components used to connect to databases, discover database structure, read and write data, and perform database-based analysis.
Database components can be added from the Database category in the Logic Editor palette.
Overview
Database workflows in MIStudio may include:
- Creating and configuring a database connection
- Discovering available tables and columns
- Reading data from a database
- Writing or modifying database data
- Sending database results to other logic components
- Building Feature Extractor requests
- Extracting features from historical process data
- Comparing extracted feature sets
The exact components used depend on the database platform and the application workflow.

Database Operations
The Database category includes components for reading, writing, and inspecting database data.
These components can be used to:
- Execute database queries
- Return query results to application logic
- Write or modify database records
- Inspect database metadata such as available tables and columns

Feature Extraction and Analysis
The Database category also includes components for working with historical process data and calculated features.
These include:
- FeatureExtractorWide
- FeatureComparator
These components can be used together to build a feature extraction request, query historical process data, calculate metrics, and compare process executions.
