Active Control Common Properties
Active controls are MIStudio graphics that users can interact with at runtime.
Common examples include buttons, push buttons, URL buttons, sliders, switches, text fields, and other input-style graphics.
Overview
Active controls are used when a MIStudio application needs user interaction. A control may allow a user to click a button, enter a value, change a setting, open a link, or trigger behavior in the application.
Many active controls share common properties. Individual control pages should describe the properties that are specific to that control and link back to this page for shared behavior.
Common Uses
Active controls can be used to:
- Create operator controls
- Trigger actions
- Send values to logic or data connections
- Navigate between screens or pages
- Open a URL
- Allow users to enter or select values
Common Properties

Name A unique name for the control. The name is used to identify the control in the project.
Visible Controls whether the graphic is shown or hidden.
Enabled Controls whether the user can interact with the control.

Runtime Behavior
At runtime, active controls can send values, trigger actions, or change application behavior based on user interaction.
For example, a button may send a value when clicked. A slider may send a changing numeric value. A URL button may open a configured link.
Notes
Not every active control supports every property listed on this page. Check the individual control page for details about that specific graphic.
