Opening MIStudio

This page explains the basic process for opening MIStudio.

Overview

MIStudio is usually started from the installed MIStudio application folder or from a launcher script provided with the MIStudio installation. The exact startup method may depend on how MIStudio was installed and configured on the system.

Basic Startup Steps

  • Locate the MIStudio installation folder.
  • Open the MIStudioSuite folder.
  • Start MIStudio using the provided launcher, shortcut, or batch file.
  • Wait for MIStudio to finish loading.
  • Open an existing project or create a new project.

Startup Notes

If MIStudio is started from a custom batch file or script, keep the console window open while testing. The console can show useful log messages, warnings, and errors.

Console output is especially useful when testing graphics, save/reopen behavior, data source connections, project loading, and deployment behavior.

Troubleshooting Startup

If MIStudio does not open correctly, check the following:

  • Confirm the launcher or shortcut points to the correct MIStudio installation folder.
  • Confirm the required Java version is available.
  • Check the console output for startup errors.
  • Restart MIStudio if the project or graphics do not load correctly.
  • Ask the development team if the error repeats or blocks testing.
