Opening MIStudio
This page explains how to open MIStudio after it has been installed and configured.
Overview
MIStudio is normally opened from a desktop icon, shortcut, or application launcher.
When MIStudio starts, the user may be prompted to choose a workspace location and project name. For a first-time user, select the Demo project to open MIStudio. After Demo opens, a new project can be created from inside MIStudio.

Basic Startup Steps
- Find the MIStudio icon or shortcut on the desktop, Start menu, or application launcher.
- Double-click the MIStudio icon.
- Wait for the MIStudio Setup Wizard or startup screen to appear.
- Confirm the workspace location.
- Select Demo from the Project Name list.
- Click OK.
- Wait for MIStudio to finish loading.
What to Expect
After MIStudio opens, the Demo project loads in the main MIStudio window.
The main MIStudio window includes the project tree, menus, properties panel, and tools used to build and edit applications.
MIStudio applications can include visual content created in the Design Editor and application logic configured in the Logic Editor.
Opening Demo gives a first-time user a starting point. From there, the user can create a new project.
After Opening Demo
After Demo opens, continue to the next page to understand the MIStudio project tree and how the main project sections are organized.
If MIStudio Does Not Open
If MIStudio does not open from the icon or shortcut:
- Try opening MIStudio again.
- Confirm that the computer is connected to any required network or system resources.
- Confirm that the MIStudio shortcut has not been moved or deleted.
- Contact the system administrator or support team if the problem continues.
