==== Overview ====

The DoubleTextField graphic is a Basic Layout text field graphic used to display or enter decimal numeric values.

DoubleTextField is a formatted text field for float or decimal-style numbers. Only values between the configured **Minimum Value** and **Maximum Value** may be entered, and the number of decimal places is controlled by the **Decimal Places** property.

DoubleTextField shares common properties with other Basic Layout text field graphics. See [[mistudio:design_editor:basic_layout:text_fields:text_field_common_properties|Text Field Common Properties]] for shared font, color, editable, enabled, background, visibility, and data source behavior.

  * Displaying decimal numeric values

==== Input Behavior ====

The DoubleTextField display can be updated from an input connection.

This can be useful when the DoubleTextField needs to show a numeric value from a data source, calculation, or another logic component.

==== Output Behavior ====

DoubleTextField sends the entered number as a **Double Value Object**.

This allows the entered or displayed decimal value to be used by other logic components.

==== DoubleTextField-Specific Behavior ====

DoubleTextField is designed for decimal-style numeric values.

DoubleTextField-specific settings may include:

  * **Decimal Places** Sets how many decimal places are used.
  * **Minimum Value** Sets the lowest value allowed.
  * **Maximum Value** Sets the highest value allowed.
  * **Horizontal Alignment** Controls how the value is aligned inside the field.
  * **Cursor Color** Sets the cursor color.
  * **Selected Text Color** Sets the selected text color.
  * **Selection Color** Sets the background color used for selected text.

In the Logic Editor, DoubleTextField may include ports such as:
