==== Overview ====

The Circle graphic is a basic Active Graphic used to display values, text, and fill-style visual indicators in a round or oval shape.

The Circle has many of the same attributes as the [[mistudio:design_editor:basic_layout:basic_shapes:box|Box]] graphic. It can be used as a simple display component, a fillable shape, or a round status indicator.

  * Creating a round or oval display component
  * Displaying values or status visually
  * Creating a round LED-style indicator
  * Creating a lamp-style indicator
  * Showing a fillable circular or oval shape
  * Building simple dashboard status displays

==== Input Behavior ====

The Circle input accepts [[mistudio:design_editor:basic_layout:basic_shapes:value_objects|Value Objects]].

Like the Box graphic, the Circle can respond to numeric input and can use fill behavior based on the configured minimum and maximum values.

The Circle can also be used as a boolean-style indicator. For example, it can behave like a simple LED or lamp when Show Label is set to False and Fill Direction is set to Boolean Fill.

==== Properties ====

The Circle has the properties of a [[mistudio:design_editor:basic_layout:basic_shapes:box|Box]].

This includes fill colors, unfilled colors, fill direction, label display, label formatting, label alignment, minimum value, maximum value, and other shared display properties.

The Circle also uses many common Active Graphic properties. See [[mistudio:design_editor:active_graphic|Active Graphic]] for shared properties such as Name, Visible, font settings, number formatting, scaling limits, bezels, transparency, and click behavior.

==== LED or Lamp Indicator Use ====

The Circle is often used as a round LED or lamp indicator.

To use the Circle this way:

  * Set **Show Label** to False.
  * Set **Fill Direction** to Boolean Fill.
  * Connect the Circle to a boolean or numeric status value.

This allows the Circle to visually represent an on/off or active/inactive state.
